Latest news. Shropshire residents recycled or composted 43 per cent of their household waste in the year April 2007 to March 2008, compared to 38 per cent in the previous year.

The South Shropshire district had the highest combined recycling and composting figure of 52.1 per cent, followed by North Shropshire at 48.7 per cent, Oswestry at 43.3 per cent, Bridgnorth at 38.7 per cent and Shrewsbury & Atcham with 37.2 per cent.

Since 1 October 2007, Shropshire Waste Partnership has been responsible for managing household waste and recycling services on behalf of Bridgnorth District Council, North Shropshire District Council, Oswestry Borough Council, Shropshire County Council and South Shropshire District Council.

These services are now being delivered on behalf of Shropshire Waste Partnership by Veolia Environmental Services.

What does this mean for you?
If you live in the Bridgnorth, North Shropshire, Oswestry or South Shropshire areas, Veolia is now responsible for producing and delivering your collection date calendars and other information leaflets.

If you live in the Shrewsbury & Atcham area your waste or recycling collection services will continue to be provided by Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council (SABC).
