Free play for under 5s

Shropshire County Council’s Children’s Information Service and Bob the Big Orange Play Bus will be in Trefonen and West Felton on Thursday 12 June offering the opportunity for families to come along with their children to enjoy the free play facilities.

The Play Bus is great fun for children under the age of five and has a soft play area, sand pit, arts and crafts activities and two qualified play workers who will entertain the children with games and toys, whilst parents and carers have the chance to find out about local services available to them.

Sharon Grainger from the Children’s Information Service will be there to provide free information about childcare and children’s activities, working with children, Tax Credits and benefits, family support services and much more.

Carol Tiddy, Acting Director for Children and Young People’s Services said: “We are keen to meet families face to face and talk about any information requirements they might have. It is important to make families in the county aware of how the Children’s Information Service can provide information on a wide range of children’s issues to help them.”

Come and join the fun in Trefonen between 10.00am and 12 noon outside the primary school and in West Felton between 1.00pm and 3.00pm outside The Punch Bowl Inn.

One local mum said: “We always have lots of fun on the Play Bus. My three-year-old really enjoys playing in the sand pit while I get the chance to find out about what else there is to do in the local area."
