Shropshire County Council’s Children’s Information Service (CIS) is out and about in Pontesbury offering parents and carers information and assistance on the full range of childcare options and children’s services. There’s plenty of fun for children too, with messy and soft play areas, craft activities, a sand pit and lots of games and toys to enjoy.

The team will be on hand at Pontesbury in School Lane on Monday 2 June from 10 – 12 noon and 1 – 3 pm. Parents and carers can get information about a range of topics related to the needs of children and young people aged 0-19 years.

Kate Bentham, Co-ordinator for the Children’s Information Service said, ‘We are keen to meet families face to face and talk about any information needs they have. It is important to make families in the county aware of how the Children’s Information Service can provide information to support them.

She added: ‘Working with children can be worthwhile, rewarding and most of all enjoyable, whether it’s working for a day nursery, out of school club, holiday playscheme, pre-school playgroup or working from home as a childminder. The Children’s Information Service will be on hand to discuss training, qualifications and careers within childcare.’

Anyone who wants to find out more information about training and jobs within the childcare sector should also visit the Children’s Information Service on the Playbus.
