In the KS3 National Strategy it states that "schools need to make explicit and effective provision for able, gifted and talented pupils".
The School Library Service can support the teaching of able pupils in the following ways.
Curriculum support
With over 400,000 items in stock, teachers can choose from a wide range of resource materials, including books, dvd's, videos and information packs suitable for pupils/students from KS1 to post 16. Many of these resources will provide challenging reading or learning opportunities.
Consultancy
SLS staff can review your fiction and non- fiction collections both in the classroom and school library to ensure the needs of gifted and talented children are being met.
