Monitoring

Monitoring is an important part of the planning system. When preparing new plans and reviewing existing plans, the council carries out a range of monitoring work.

Information gathered from performance indicators show how well a plan is performing. This information can sometimes inform revisions to these documents.

Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) - 2007
As part of the Local Development Framework, an Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) will be produced. This will provide an effective tool to assess:

• the progress made in preparing planning documents
• the policies within existing plans

In December 2007 the County Council submitted its Annual Monitoring Report to Government Office for the West Midlands. The report compiles information on a set of indicators for the period between April 2006 and March 2007. You can view the AMR for 2007 by selecting the relevant attachment on this page.

Development trends
Other reports also act as useful tools for showing trends and providing evidence. An important source of information is the Development Trends Report. In addition to this a series of information sheets are published on an annual basis, which summarise the land use development in Shropshire.
