Secret Hills exhibition at the Discovery Centre

Over the winter months the Secret Hills exhibition has undergone a transformation you can now visit our totally new permanent exhibition.

You can find out about the chilling Ice Age and meet our Mammoth. You'll get a flavour of life in the Iron Age and discover the story of some of Shropshire's many medieval castles. You'll also see some of the people, places and products which continue to make the Shropshire Hills a special place today.

As you go round the exhibition you'll learn how to be a landscape detective. So when you head out into the hills you should be able to spot some of their stories yourself.

The balloon ride has been replaced. You can now take off with our film panorama: an innovative, cutting-edge movie presentation that takes centre-stage in the new-look exhibition. It has been filmed using a high-definition, digital, four camera rig, fixed to a hot air balloon. This creates an extraordinary panoramic view of the Shropshire Hills, projected onto a 180-degree curved screen with surround sound, giving you the illusion of actually drifting across the landscape.
