The Advisory Service for Shropshire works with schools to improve the quality of learning experiences and standards of achievement at all levels. It supports schools by, among other things:

  • providing school-based consultancy, which can be tailored to schools' specific requirements
  • planning and providing in-service courses across all curriculum areas and phases, which can be delivered at the service's training centres or, alternatively, on school sites
  • producing and sourcing curriculum publications - most written by our own advisers - as well as a wide range of resources, particularly in the areas of science, D&T and mathematics
  • providing training centres and specialist curriculum resource centres for: school effectiveness, publications, literacy, numeracy, ICT, arts and media and science and technology.
