Day centres operate throughout Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin at various venues. Each day centre is local to its area. They open one day a week usually between 10am and 3pm (times may vary slightly). Contact the Head Office in Shrewsbury for further details.

A small charge is made towards the costs and most centres also have a weekly raffle to raise funds.

Generally, transport to and from the Day Centre is provided by either car or in some areas specially adapted minibus. In some cases members are asked to make their own arrangements.

Each day centre has its own character. The majority of day centres include some form of activity, such as cards & games, crafts, guest speakers, gentle exercise to music, quizzes and bingo. All day centres provide a hot two course lunch and there are also occasional trips and meals out.

Each day centre is run by a team of much valued volunteers who are supported by Age Concern staff.

Referrals are made to the local Age Concern office and are usually made by Social Services, GPs, Health Visitors, family members and friends.
